Prayer Resource Center

Use these monthly resources to dive deeper into the subject of prayer

March

The books we've read the first two months of the year have been pretty heavy. To give our minds and spirits a moment to slow down, the resource for March isn't quite as heavy. It's still a good read and resource, but it won't require as much mental bandwidth to digest. The featured resource for March is a book by Sky Jethani, titled "What If Jesus Was Serious About Prayer?" You can order a copy from Amazon or from your preferred retailer.

February

During the month of February, we encourage you to read the book, "Dark Clouds, Deep Mercy" by Mark Vroegop. You can find a copy on Amazon, or your favorite retailer.

This book is unique in its perspective of the aspect of lament prayers. You'll be encouraged to learn how honestly you can approach God with your discouragement, confusion, and even doubts.

HOW TO READ IT IN THE MONTH OF FEBRUARY: Take your time with this book. The book is easily divided into four parts. There are four weeks in February. Devote one week to each part of the book. We suggest the following...

  • February 1-7 | Introduction and Part 1 (chapters 1-4)
  • February 8-14 | Part 2 (chapters 5-8)
  • February 15-21 | Part 3 (chapters 9-10) and Conclusion
  • February 22-28 | Appendixes (read these through twice)

January

In the month of January, we encourage you read "A Praying Life" by Paul Miller.

You can purchase a copy here, or at your preferred retailer.

HOW TO READ IT IN A MONTH: The book has a short foreword and introduction, followed by 34 chapters and an appendix. Read two chapters a day for 4 days, then read one chapter a day for the remainder of the month. Getting started a little later than January 1? Then read two chapters a day until you get caught up!
