We are excited about our ministry to the Deaf and Hard of Hearing at First Baptist Church. Our Silent Sunday School is a special time to study God's Word. This time of study is for those who are Deaf, or Hard of Hearing, or individuals interested in working with this special group of people. In addition, we have more programs for you to participate!

A
s usual, our 10:00am Sunday worship services, as well as our special events (like our fully staged Christmas and Easter productions), and our discipleship classes are interpreted for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, for the time being.

We are thankful to God for raising up this ministry to serve a great group of people. Our qualified interpreters have huge hearts to minister to the Deaf community around us.

"Study to show thyself [yourself] approved unto God, a workman who needeth [needs] not to be ashamed, rightly dividing [using] the word of truth [Bible]."

GROWING KIDS GOD'S WAY WORKSHOP - In the title, "Growing Kids God’s Way", we place our emphasis on God’s Way - meaning the way of the Lord. We serve an ethical God. Moral rightness (difference between right and wrong) flows from His being. His ways are in accord with His unchangeable character. In short, God is absolutely perfect and His moral law is a reflection of His holy character (Psalm 19:7). More than that, He has shown man what is good and what is required of him (Micah 6:8). We all must learn the way of the Lord and instruct our growing children in it.

Today, children are growing up in a complex world that demands fundamental skills for successful relationships. If you not sure about what your children need to know, or what they are capable of learning at each age, then this resource is a must for you. Raising Kids God's Way is immensely practical, hands-on, and easy-to-use resource that shows moms and dads how to teach practical life skills to their children and encourage habits of godly living.

3:16: NUMBER OF HOPE BIBLE STUDY - These 26 words comprise what is arguably the most well-known verse in the Christian Bible. Wikipedia, the free online encyclopedia, calls this verse “the Bible in a nutshell” and even small children can recite it from memory. It is one verse that all Christians can agree on—uniting believers across denominational lines and theological rifts. Why is this verse so well-loved, easily recognized, and oft-quoted?

Our author, Max Lucado, uses John 3:16 as a starting point for addressing some of the most central issues of life and religion. “John 3:16 begins with God, ends with life and urges us to do the same,” he writes. Some of the life and death issues Mr. Lucado tackles include:

• Is there any chance of a second chance?
• Why is this world so hard?
• Have I exhausted God’s love?
• Life has let downs. How can I know that Jesus won’t be one of them?
• Does God have a place for people like me?
• Don’t all roads lead to heaven and God?

G.A.P.S. - Glorify, Adore, Praise, and Serve is a group of mostly Deaf members who minister to others by using songs, drama, testimonies and devotions using sign language to build G.A.P.S. "bridge" between our world and God's. Our songs tell of God and His love through Deaf sign language. We love to worship Him in everything we do and especially enjoy glorifying, adoring, praising, and serving Him through song and drama using Deaf sign language.

"I will praise you as long as I live, and in your name I will lift up my hands" Psalm 63:4
